Healing from within.
Understanding menstrual and menopausal processes as healing allies opens the door to transformation.
Natural feminine cycles (from the menstrual cycle to pregnancy and the menopausal transition) are inherently life-affirming initiatory processes — they are biological and psychospiritual processes intelligently embedded in our deepest nature — yet, these cycles have been distorted, medicalized, chemically suppressed, and forced into unnatural rhythms alongside the domestication and restraint of the instinctive feminine nature.
This intelligent and creative feminine alchemy, which forms the fulcrum around which every woman’s life naturally unfolds, has been painfully misunderstood, discounted, and pathologized in modern western culture. Modern medicine too often seeks to label the challenges we experience in women’s bodies as “disorders” or “syndromes” (for example, PMDD, PMS). But the truth is that modern medicine generally does not understand the uterus, let alone most of what it labels as feminine disorders.
And the deeper truth is that these experiences are part of a larger process unfolding in the body as one continuous feedback loop that is woven through all the layers of one’s being. So-called disorders are messages from the body as it seeks to adapt to the circumstances presented by the context of our lives. And those messages, coming only from within in us, may carry precisely the information we need to heal.
No part of the body can be separated from any other - everything is connected down to a cellular level and beyond, just as your body cannot be separated from your life and all that influences it (including your thought and behavioral patterns, your relationships, your environment, and the culture in which you live). Diagnoses, although potentially validating our experience, can be unnecessarily limiting and often serve as a barrier to healing at the root cause. Root cause healing doesn’t occur through medication or surgery - it occurs when we have resolved the underlying causative patterns in the body and in our lives.
By recognizing, respecting, and honoring the body’s innate intelligence and exquisite drive to continually adapt to the circumstances with which it is presented, and the natural ebb and flow of our cyclicality throughout our lives, we can learn to work with nature rather than against it. When we observe the changing nature of our body with curiosity, rather than making it wrong or in need of fixing, we can open to receiving its messages and intentionally reattune the nervous system to a healthy state that invites healing, resilience, and empowerment.
In this life, may you reclaim the inherent rightness and wholeness of your being.

“The Holy Feminine is that which restores us to the innerness of all things, to the sense that all things are full of life, Holy, that we are no longer on the outside looking at the world as a set of objects, but inside this whole living, breathing presence called Life. In such a moment we can have meaning and place, a ‘holding’ within the cosmos. And we become vessels through which the future can speak to us, asking us to unfold and evolve for the sake of us all. It is participatory consciousness.”
