Healing from Center

The pelvis is the center of a woman’s body - your fulcrum, your root source of vitality and creativity. Your presence in the pelvis strongly influences your ability to move through life feeling at home in yourself.

Most women experience pelvic congestion and, unless actively trying to conceive or experiencing a health challenge, near total disconnection from the womb and the entire pelvis as a matter of daily life. Over time, pelvic congestion and disconnection creates imbalances in the body, from the physical (pain, heaviness, hormonal issues, lack of pleasure) to the subtle (energetic, emotional, and spiritual - decreased vitality and sensuality). Pelvic congestion results in diminished feminine vitality.

I offer gentle techniques that combine somatic therapies with movement and binding the body with a long, woven shawl (the rebozo) to provide pelvic support, healthy alignment, and deep nourishment and rebalancing for the nervous system. The rebozo is traditionally used during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum, and life transitions of all sorts (including menopause), but is beneficial for anyone experiencing pelvic trauma (including from medical intervention) or other pelvic or cyclic health challenges.

Pelvic healing sessions are customized to your unique needs and are offered in two formats in a quiet, natural setting 35 miles west of Portland, Oregon. You can choose from:

  1. A personalized session lasting between 1.5 to 3 hours (depending on your schedule), or

  2. A day-long personal retreat.

Sessions involve unwinding pelvic tension through guided somatic inquiry, gentle movement, sound healing, restorative rest, and nature connection.

This work is for everyone - it is essential healthcare for women.

It can also be especially supportive if you experience any of the following challenges:

  • Menstrual and other pelvic pain and/or imbalances

  • Lack of pelvic vitality after childbirth

  • Creative stagnation/lack of inspiration

  • Issues with balance and engagement of the pelvic muscles

  • Impaired hormonal flow and cellular repair

  • Sexual health challenges

  • Limitations from scar tissue

  • Challenges during menopausal transition (or any life transition!)

  • Fertility challenges

  • Impaired pelvic connection, embodiment and proprioception

  • Disruptions of root chakra energy from sexual and reproductive trauma

My approach to pelvic healing is rooted in Holistic Pelvic Care (developed by Tami Lynn Kent, PT) and is informed by somatic therapies and an ancient ritual known as the “closing of the bones”. Gentle techniques and mindful attention help restore vitality and blood flow to the pelvic muscles and organs and reconnect women to their innate vitality, strength, creativity, and sensuality.

“The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is a door, if you have an old, old story, that is a door. If you love the sky and the water so much you almost cannot bear it, that is a door. If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door.” - Clarissa Pinkola Estés, Women Who Run With the Wolves
